Recent Site Updates

May 06/06 - Nothing new today, but just letting you know that I have quite a few sketches to add to the site in the next little while. Mostly 12x12, but a few cards and 8.5x11 portait and landscape pages. I'm going to try and get some more done this month and do one big update to the site closer to the end of May.

October 11/05 - Well, it's FINALLY live!! :D I'm soo happy about this, you wouldn't even believe it! I have added 100 new sketches into many of the categories. Also, I removed the "printables" option, there will be something new coming in regards to that. All *new* sketches are displayed first in their galleries, rather than last as it was before. If you have any questions, comments, or problems...feel free to email me using the "contact me" link at the bottom of any page.

July 11/05 - No new sketches uploaded today, but I have had several emails asking what's up, so I'm just updating this page. My son was recently diagnosed with leukemia, and while he's getting better from that, my life is pretty busy with looking after him, as well as a few other projects I have going on. I do have sketches to upload...and I am working on a few more. The main reason this hasn't been updated in forever is because I didn't have it set up in a way that it was easy to upload and update the pages. So...in all my spare time (lol) I'm working on a redesign of the site that will make this all so much easier. I'm hoping to have it finished by the end of the month. When it goes live, there will be TONS of new sketches for you to use as inspiration! So, check back in late July or early August for some new stuff! Thanks!

A Little About Bree

Bree Hi, all! I'm Bree...the creator of Scrap Maps. I live in Alberta, Canada with Trevor (my husband of 5 years) and our 2 children. They are my reason for scrapping...Mason is 3 and Natalie is 2. They keep my hands full with their antics, but I still manage to find time to scrap digitally, and draw sketches.

I've been scrapbooking since high school, but it wasn't the archival way. When I went to my first Creative Memories party in 2000, I was addicted to keeping my memories the RIGHT way. I soon discovered a huge world of scrapbooking supplies and different styles, and didn't look back. About two years ago, I tried my first digital page, and since then I've jumped head first into the digital scrapping world...and I'm on the design teams at A Cherry On Top, Ams Digi Scraps, and Digi Diva Designs. Add to that list, I am a participating designer at Digi Scrap Divas and am a regular contributor for Digital Memories Magazine drawing sketches.

My other interests include cross-stitch, reading, sewing...I love watching movies and reality TV, playing with my kids and baking (although I rarely do it anymore, lol). We are also renovating and redecorating our home, which I'm absolutely loving! If you want to know more about me, my family, or digital scrapping, feel free to visit my personal blog: Creating Is My Life.

The History Of Scrap Maps

After taking a much-needed break from the scrapping world, I came back to the scrapbooking world in early 2004 and found a fantastic group of ladies. At one point, we were looking for inspiration, and other than Becky Higgins, there was not much out there for sketches. I honestly didn't believe that I would be any good at sketching, but I opened up my paint program and gave it a shot. My friends were SOOO supportive, and I flooded the galleries with my sketches...they were quite addicting!

In April 2004, when I had too many sketches for those galleries, and they were starting to seem unorganized, I looked into getting a little website to share them with everyone. Well...that really took off, and I found that my little setup was just not big enough for the amount of visitors I was receiving. So, off to get my own domain name and learning html coding...and here we are...Scrap Maps, opened in November 2004. The only resource on the web for sketches of every size...FREE!

The Fine Print

Scrap Maps are free, and I want everyone to feel free to use them. You may use them for challenges on your business or personal site. But, I only ask that you do one thing...when you share your work that use my sketches, please remember to credit them to me! A link back to my site would be fantastic, but I realize that not all sites allow that, so Scrap Maps or my name is great too! And, it's not a requirement...but if you are sharing your work online...email me so I can see what you've done! I love seeing how everyone interperets them!
